But we're pretty sure Thorny won't be out there all night. So, on the assumption that something will come by and displace him at some point, we are just going to go ahead and put him on the DL. If he's still out there at breakfast, I'll see if he has options left and take care of it that way.

Of course I'm joking about sending him down. We've been assured that no black vans are used in the procurement of the injured/dead, but that doesn't stop certain players (I'm looking at you Trevor) from nervously checking every 5 seconds to see how it all goes down.

We join the Indian's manager giving an ad hoc press conference / brisk walk down the hall to the trainer's room, already in progress...
...no, two of them, and yes they were armed. What? Apparently the front office is not taking chances with "Ache-y Break-y" Brantley, so he had an escort.Yes he's playing--what? What? What do you mean Mallex has been missing since breakfast? No one here noticed until today's game started...

Kuhl was at the breakfast table as we arrived. Already in uniform. (Kuhl, not the team) "Let's go, let's go" he said, bouncing around. We'll see, we'll see. So he's up now and pitching today. Also, Mallex is still missing and assumed in the minors. His stuff is gone, which is pretty much how we figure these things out around here. Right. Anyway, onward and upward!

Maxxel..Lammax.. Dude's names' a frickin' Dr. Seuss Protagonist... Anyway, his preferred permutation, 'Mallex', let's go with that, well he's getting the, uh...oh let's just say "call". We suspect those childhood tales of "things that go bump in the night" originated by some kid whose dad was a career minor leaguer. Which is to say, we expect him at some point before breakfast.

One day he's in the minors, the next two he is literally 1/3 of the fielded roster. Dude should have bought a lottery ticket.

Ok, I'm standing there on the field and some joker walks over all-decked-out in brand new uni fresh from the fan store, and asks if he should take 2nd or 3rd. I look in the dugout to see who's laughing at this prank and my bench manager just shrugs. So that's how I found out that David Bote got called up. I love how I'm in the loop on these things. I mean, 20 minutes before game time? I'm not getting paid enough.

Ryan Buchter is missing and presumed dead--er DL'd. Oh, who am I fooling? While we won't be surprised to see him again later in the season, we also wouldn't be surprised to hear the news that he was found on the side of a river. C'est la vie. Er, mort.
