Just an idea but maybe a system where 5 year max worth a certain % of the players last ARB salary. Something like that, but I would love to see a system where we can extend our own guys without relying on IRL MLB teams.

Whatever we come up with, I definitely think it shouldn't include IRL salaries. MLB teams don't have a $120m salary cap. We do.

100% agree that IRL contracts will not be the starting point. I dislike the randomizer effect that has - if you happen to get an extension IRL you luck out and keep your star.
Not realistic.
