I accept. I don't think a 35 year old SP fits well into my rebuild strategy, and I love prospects like Javier and Hulsizer. I'm sure this looks like a sell-low from my end, but I'm stoked to jumpstart my minors.

Pirates confirm. I think even if Scherzer declines a bit, he’s still a top 10-20 pitcher, and that cap coverage makes it still advantageous to have him be the rock of my rotation amidst my young pitchers. I think he’ll keep being dominant, so this is probably a solid buy low for me. I have enough depth to survive even if this deal backsfires. Good talks NYY.
