docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1a7AOScCGzgakD9weaXg4CbkVYYBMoucGWzGScCvz5HE/edit#gid=1509646334These Farm System Rankings were evaluated using MLB Pipeline. Each team's farm system was copied into this file and evaluated. Evaluating Criteria:Each player was given a value if they were in the top 100 and if they were in their MLB team's top 30 prospects. For example: Vlad Guerrero Jr is #1 in the Top 100 and #1 in the Blue Jay's Farm System. His ranking is as follows: 100 points for being the #1 Top 100 Prospect. 30 points for being the #1 Prospect in the Blue Jay's Farm System. Alex Jackson is not ranked in the Top 100 and ranked #31 in the Atlanta Brave's Farm System. His ranking is as follow: 0 points for not being ranked in the Top 100. 1 point for being the #30 Prospect in the Brave's Farm System. Players that are neither on the top 100 or on the top 30 for their respective team's farm systems receive a 0. Team's score is determined by summing the rankings of all players on their minor league roster and dividing it by the quantity of players. ***If a name is spelled incorrectly or their name does not match, such as Michael as Mike, it will register as a 0.*** I am human, do the rankings yourself if you wanna complain about someone being spelled incorrectly. There's 900 players that have been evaluated based on ranking and 1,281 prospects on rosters.

Alright - Devon led off fantastically, but I had to chip in my own take. This model does a few things, but the intention is to rank each club's farm system alongside their MLB team. I couldn't figure out an easy way to take into account salary / length of control yet, so none of that is contemplated. This means that Giancarlo Stanton (PR Score of 10.34, huge contract) is valued identically to Whit Merrifield (PR Score of 10.31, tiny contract) when Whit should be the more valuable commodity. Open to suggestions to improve, I describe the methodology below MLB
Uses YTD Player Rater score for each team, with rosters as of today. Takes the standard deviation of these scores and ranks based on that MiLBUses the Fangraphs score convention (30-80 scale) for prospect scores, sums up the total value of the prospects on each roster Takes the standard deviation of these scores and ranks based on that Franchise valueCurrently, this value is derived by ranking teams according to 60% of the MLB standard deviation + 40% of the MiLB standard deviation Output

Update: With the help of management, the Farm System Rankings are now live. The rankings will update when the spreadsheet is updated. The first test will be once the MIL/ATL trade is processed in the next few days. Periodically, I will log the rankings for each team for each season to keep track of who rises and falls within the rankings. (Opening Day, Post Trade Deadline, End of Year) Using www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/top-prospects, players who have not played a game during the season are not included in the rankings. Such as Brady Singer, the top prospect of the Kansas City Royals.
