Pirates confirm.  Buchholz and Madson have had nice seasons, but aren't much use to me in the 2018 playoff stretch, I'd rather have better draft position.  Schmipf and Sogard help clear the Royals roster for the moves.  I am a big fan of Lee's plate discipline and potential to be at least an average outfielder.  The draft pick will help me to continue to deepen my system.  Good talks KC!

Accept. My team is in an awkward position between contending and rebuilding. I realize it would be nearly impossible to build up my prospect team, therefore, I’m pushing my team to compete. Madson helps an injury prone bullpen, and Bucholtz helps stabilize my rotation. Nice trade Pirates!

VETO, Clay is now hurt, Madson had a 4+ ERA and are both exp. Dealing a first and a top prospect (in KCs system) just feels like it is to much, i feel like KC can get a much better package for Lee/First

If I squint, Buchholz+Madsen could be worth one of the two assets being traded. Royals could have bid on Buchholz a week ago and got him for free.

With both contracts expiring and Buchholz hitting the DL, I just don't get it.
