The Pirates and Marlins agree to the following trade:
Pirates send:
OF, Starling Marte ($7.5m, $10m, $11.5m, $12m)
$7m in cash in 2018
$3.5m in cash in 2019
Marlins send:
P, Sandy Alcantara (prospect)
P, Trevor Rogers (prospect)
SS, Kevin Maitan (prospect)
2018 MIA 1st Round Pick
Net Cap Change in 2018:
MIA: +500k
Pirates confirm. I love Alcantara as a pitching prospect and think he has 2/3 upside. Nice that he's close to the majors as well. Rogers and Maitan are both wild cards, as is any first round pick, but all three will likely have high upside, which you need a solid mix of in any farm system. Thanks for the great talks, Andrew!
