I accept. While I do think Garver is legit based on his minor league HR totals and his very good hit tool, a 28 year old catcher doesn't have a place on my roster as I tear it down. I needed to grab some more young arms and I did just that. James and JB have disappointed this year, but I think both have the floor of high end back of the bullpen pitchers with ceilings of very good starters. I'll take the risk and hope one can reach their ceiling. Good luck Tiago.

I accept, really needed a catcher due to Hedges inconsistency, I'm taking a bit of a risk dealing 2 good young arms for a guy that I hope is not a fluke, hoping Garver continues to contribute at the plate. Thx Max happy rebuild.

I came into this trade prepared to hate it. Two highly regarded pitchers for a nobody catcher??

Then I looked at stats for the year and it all made more sense. JJ is walking 6 per 9 and seems to be stuck a reliever. JB had 3 horrific starts to begin the year, and has been much better in the 2 since. Garver seems to be at worst a cost controlled average hitting catcher.

At the end of this journey I think I actually like this for Tiago. Max still adds tons of upside, but the bust risk tied to that upside is pretty high.
