Reds trade:
2B Scooter Gennett (6) $9.69 $3.00 in 2019 Cap
Royals trade:
CF Kevin Pillar (5) $4.55 PP LHP Shane McClanahan BOS 2019 1st (1.26)
Gennett marks the final Red still on my roster from all the original keepers. It was a nice run but I have to many RFA eligible guys next year and I don't trust Cincy to hand Gennett an extension any time soon. I think LeMahieu will play enough to be a decent replacement and Pillar fills the whole I had in CF after moving Cain. My lineup isn't nearly as strong as it was a week ago but as long as I can compete in the NLC then I am satisfied. McClanahan and the 1st should allow me to build on my very poor farm system as well.

I’d like a little more explanation from @royalsgm before I vote. Two first round picks and two years of Pillar for one season of Gennett seems pretty steep?

Pillar is no bueno, and Gennett is a top 10 2B. That upgrade is worth 2 decent prospects to me. Hell, I paid Peter Lambert & Domingo Santana at the wire last year for Daniel friggin' Murphy, and that was just for 2 months of production!

One quick look at my team will tell you all you need to know: I need a second baseman. Gennett is criminally underrated and will be in the thick of a very productive Reds offense. I'll just resign the guy. Pillar will not be the Blue Jays starting centre fielder by the end of the season. Chasing prospects and picks is not for me, especially since this league has revealed its fragility over the past couple weeks.
On that note, if anyone is looking to acquire some cap flexibility, hit me up.

Alright, I can pass with that explanation, but Cincy has the edge on this deal imo. Approve (4-0).

Approve... but I’d disagree with Pillar not having an OF job by the end of the year. He’s probably the most likely to still have it if all the Jays outfielders.

Does KC know that he can only tag 2 6s?
